Description

Reluctantly he acknowledged that he was no stranger to attention. That was right - back home, people had always stared at him as if he had something on his face, and it had taken a while to notice that it was admiration in their eyes. But back there, he’d kept to himself, smiling bashfully into the latest bouquet of flowers - given, not recieved, thankfully. Here was a whole new story. And he kept telling himself that it was his story. After all, he’d come through the portal from here to there when he was young. This was his world originally.
“Prince!” One of Kazuhi’s men called enthusiastically. Of course. These were his people. Rakan sighed, then realised he was actually smiling. He hadn’t asked to become the figurehead of a group of rebels, but something about their determination and will to survive meant he didn’t mind. “Look, the flowers even spread over here!” Rakan peered over where the man was pointing and exclaimed ‘“wow, so they did! I had no idea the seeds would go this far...” He was pleased. Flowers could brighten any place, even this dead land. He tried not to look at the ghastly black sky. One thing at a time. He wasn’t sure how yet, but he was sure that some day this world would be revived. No. His world would live again, and whatever that meant for him - if he had to confront his ‘brother’ the ayame prince, if this adventure took him further than he ever meant to go - he would face it. He picked up a flower and gazed at it’s tender petals and the curious fluff at its core that shone, like sun shimmering on water. If beauty and friendship could exist here, there must be hope...He looked over at his friends. There was no-longer-an-enemy Tohji, awkward but not really hiding his cheer. Patient Narushige gathering the glowing flowers in a basket - womanly as ever. Koh stuffing his serpentine face with them then exclaiming “Watch out! Watch out!”
“WATCH OUT, RAKAN!”
Rakan’s heart jolted as he was grabbed from behind by a pair of strong, black-bandaged arms, and he kicked and struggled before a familiar chuckled sounded from his captor. Wha...Chigusa again? He sighed.
“I know you’re happy, okay, but really?”
“Really...”
Chigusa grinned. Rakan was beginning to suspect Chigusa was not as innocent as he appeared, but once again, let it pass. For now. From the looks on the faces of the men surrounding them, he would have to talk to his friend about this current obsession with hugging.

Daily story. I suppose this is fan-fiction XD Based on Silver Diamond, a really sweet and wonderfully drawn manga. Aaah I can't do it justice. Hopefully it's interesting to those who haven't read it. My writing feels horrible functional, not at all artistic and with no action to report XD And I had to be true to the book with the last bit of shonen-ai '^_^ I tried to be less contrasty with this drawing, and actually sketched the hand first :) It's a nice style, a bit hard to control but I like how it sort of resembles the digital art I admire. I also doubled the canvas size, though I want to keep the aspects similar so I can assemble the total amount of pictures some day :)

This is amazing!

What I really like about this piece is how it feels like a release... and it feels so gentle, so natural.. I don't know. It's really quite powerful and profound overall, I think.

The background is great in emphasising the main subject matter and concept more. I think the shading is lovely.. and the composition is good too.

Could be sharper, perhaps, but then it does work with the atmosphere and mood.. the way it is a bit blurry and unfocused.

Great stuff.
